Claremont Club & Spa Becomes Fairmont Hotel

claremont club & spa, a fairmont hotel

Fairmont just signed a new San Francisco property. The Claremont Club & Spa, A Fairmont Hotel has joined the brand's portfolio.

Built in 1915 and situated at the base of the Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve, overlooking San Francisco Bay, the Claremont offers 276 restored guestrooms and suites, as well as a club and spa.

Fairmont’s parent company, FRHI Hotels & Resorts, purchased the Claremont in 2014 in partnership with California financier Richard C. Blum and his family. Following the deal the hotel underwent a multimillion dollar renovation project, which updated the hotel's facilities. The lobby has been opened up to bring in bay views, and the hotel's hardwood floors and carpeting have been restored.

All 276 guestrooms have been updated by global design firm Gensler, including the unveiling of a new Presidential Suite. Slated to open in early 2016, Chef Dominique Crenn’s neighborhood brasserie will serve a locally sourced seasonal menu, joining the hotel’s three other restaurants and lounges.

Rounding out the amenities are a spa and club facility complete with kids’ pool, tennis and fitness center, as well as 20,000 square feet of meeting space, including the Empire Ballroom that can accommodate upwards of 450 attendees and a number of meeting rooms with views of the bay. The resort is also home to a private social and tennis club.
