JetBlue Offers Flights to Get Around LA's 'Carmageddon'

Locals are calling it "Carmageddon": The San Diego (405) Freeway between the Santa Monica (10) and the Hollywood (101) freeways will be shut down for expansion, making Los Angeles' legendary traffic jams even worse.

But there is a ray of hope: JetBlue is offering flights to and from Long Beach and Burbank airports over the weekend to get around the closure. Sadly, the JetBlue flights—two each way at a total cost of $4 or $5 per flight—sold out within two hours of the airline's announcement, but according to the Press Telegram, the airline is just one of many area businesses that are offering special deals.
