CMH Summer Adventure Speaker Series to Host 3-Day Short Escapes in 2013

CMH AdventuresCMH Summer Adventures will introduce a new lineup of guest speakers, including renowned anthropologists, ornithologists, botanists, chefs and photographers, to host 3-Day Short Escapes from its remote backcountry lodges in the Canadian Rockies this summer.

The roster of guest speakers at the Bobbie Burns and Bugaboo Lodges in July and August 2013 will include:

Wade Davis - National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence and R.C.G.S. Fellow, will present guests with his renowned Massey Lectures, “The Wayfinders: Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in the Modern World,” from July 21-24, 2013.

Peter Potterfield - Outdoor adventure journalist and photographer, will lead guests on a lodge-to-lodge adventure between the Bobbie Burns and Bugaboo lodges. Every night, from Aug. 11-17, 2013, Potterfield will share stories and photos from his journeys around the world.

John Ash – From Aug. 26-29, 2013, the “father of wine country cuisine” will discuss sustainable and ethical food issues, and his latest cookbook, “Culinary Birds.”

Cam Gillies - Ornithologist and photographer, Dr. Gillies will share his passion and stories about his travels through Jamaica, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and now the remote wilderness areas of eastern British Columbia with CMH Summer Adventures from July 12-15, 2013.

Brian Keating – The adventurer, explorer and global environmentalist, joins his wife Dee to lead a family adventure from July 21-24, 2013, out of the Bobbie Burns Lodge for kids of all ages.
