Cancun has its share of high-end all-inclusives. But none of them are quite like the newly opened, wine-inspired, Secrets The Vine Cancun.
AMResorts, provider of sales, marketing and brand management services for Zoetry Wellness & Spa Resorts, and Secrets, Dreams, Now and Sunscape Resorts & Spas, celebrated the official opening of the adults-only Secrets The Vine Cancun on August 19. The introduction of the wine-inspired resort, AMResorts’ 21st property in Mexico, represents the Secrets brand’s entry into Cancun’s hotel zone.
About The Vine
Designed by the award-winning Rockwell Group, Secrets The Vine Cancun has 495 chic rooms with signature design elements including a private balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea and Laguna Nichupte, Italian porcelain floors polished to mimic wood, custom-covered headboards and teak wood furnishings, luxury linens and Rockwell Group-designed APF mirrors, and white glass-wrapped bathrooms. It is situated in the heart of Cancun and on the golden Yucatan Peninsula coastline.

Upon entering Secrets The Vine, clients will instantly take note of the Mayan culture and Yucatan Peninsula design influences. For example, the concierge area, envisioned as a smoking room, mixes traditional hacienda and contemporary-style furniture.
Secrets The Vine’s signature design also celebrates fine wine, starting with its lobby which houses The Vine Bar, a designated wine tasting area for guests, featuring a wine wall with nearly 3,000 varieties.
There, clients can enjoy sommelier-led tastings hosted at the locally handcrafted wood table with seating for up to 14 guests. A Vine Bazaar completes the wine-centric experience. This area of the resort has a variety of relaxing spaces including The Vine Café, The Vine Bar & The Lounge, Terrace, and The Library, which was designed to recall the ancient Mexican tradition of storytelling.
The resort is also home to the very trendy Red Vine Piano Bar, open from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. This is where clients can enjoy a great variety of national and international wines as suggested by the resort’s sommelier. The bar has sleek and modern-rich parquet floors, custom sconces and an intimate lighted dance floor. It seats about 80 people and the dress code is casual.
Best Rooms
Travel Agent recommends the Master Suite Ocean Front. It has a TV lounge area/den that can be utilized as a second bedroom with a pullout sofa, a main living area with dining table, a king-size floating bed with white custom headboard, walnut wood furnishing, an in-room soaking tub, and a corner terrace with impressive views of the Caribbean Sea and Laguna. These rooms are located on the 10th and 11th floors and on floors 14 through 20.

Clients also cannot go wrong with the Preferred Club Presidential Suite. It provides for personal receptionist concierge allowing the guests to check in on their own floor, eliminating check-in at the general reception area, and affords magnificent views of both the ocean and lagoon. The Presidential Suite also has two full bathrooms, and two bedrooms, one bedroom featuring a king-size floating bed and the second bedroom occupying with two queen-size floating beds. The bedrooms include a white custom headboard, walnut wood furnishing and an in-room soaking tub.
The suite also has a TV lounge/den with a pullout sofa and main living area with dining table. The terrace provides impressive views of the Caribbean Sea and Laguna Nichupte. There is also a private terrace furnished with a chaise lounge and table with two chairs. This room is on the 28th floor.
The Spa
Secrets The Vine’s 12,580-square-foot spa has the perfect atmosphere for those seeking relaxation with a selection of signature treatments and hydrotherapy experience inspired by the underground limestone caves and subterranean open-water pools of the Yucatan Peninsula. A fitness center facility and full-service beauty salon are also available.
Golf
Secrets The Vine Cancun offers complimentary greens fees at Playa Mujeres Golf Club, a Greg Norman-designed signature 18-hole course. Each hole is placed to provide impressive ocean and tropical views.
From now through December 19, clients playing before 1 p.m. will incur a premium tee time charge of $50. Clients playing after 1 p.m. will only incur the cost of the cart rental fee of $35.
For clients requiring transportation, a $20 per person surcharge must be paid upon arrival to the Playa Mujeres Golf Course. It is important to note that tee times, reservations and transportation must be scheduled with the resort concierge at least 24 hours in advance.

Dining
The resort has seven distinctive restaurants and three bars promising a variety of experiences. Dinner options include Bluewater Grill, Dragons Oriental, Nebbiolo Ristorante and Olio Mediterranean. Also, clients have access to the benefits of Secrets Resorts & Spas’ signature Unlimited-Luxury vacation concept, which offers limitless access to gourmet à la carte dining and premium beverage brands, 24-hour room and concierge services, many daytime activities and live evening entertainment.
Whom to Book For
We recommend booking this adults-only resort for clients looking for a chic, contemporary vibe. It would be a great fit for couples, but girls and guys getaways should also be highly targeted along with, of course, wine lovers.

The resort’s variety of meeting spaces, including 17,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space overlooking the Nichupte lagoon, is ideal for group meetings and incentive travelers.
