Caribbean, Mexico to be Featured in Next Forbes Travel Guide

The Forbes Travel Guide announced that it will begin rating properties in the Caribbean and Mexico. It will unveil the region's first group of five star properties in 2015, and will expand further in Latin America in coming months.

"With a new foothold in Mexico and the Caribbean, we look forward to announcing our continued expansion in Latin America in the coming months," said Peter Kressaty, Forbes Travel Guide's senior vice president of client services, in a written release.

The company announced its entry into the United Kingdom market in 2013. This comes on top of the more than 150 markets in which the company currently rates hotels, restaurants and spas in the United States, Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau.

George Sotelo, General Manager of the Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve hotel in Dorado Puerto Rico, welcomed the expansion, calling it, "an important recognition of the growth of the luxury hotel segment in Puerto Rico and throughout the Caribbean."
