Century Casinos Applies for License in Switzerland

Century Casino Central CityCentury Casinos, Inc. has announced that the international casino entertainment company has applied for a casino license in Neuchatel, Switzerland. In the event that the government approves the application, the company expects to invest approximately $30 million toward the 21,000-square feet facility, including underground car parking, up to 250 slot machines and 18 gambling tables.

One of four companies applying for the license, the company is participating in the tender procedure for this concession through its recently purchased, 97 percent-owned subsidiary, "Casino Les 3 Lacs SA." Although a decision is expected in Q2 or Q3 of this year, there is no guarantee the concession will be granted nor that the company will be able to successfully develop the property, in the event of the application's success. Located at the intersection of highways 5 and 10, at the exit of La Tene and next to the Ibis Hotel, the site is within 90 minutes' drive of Lausanne, Geneva and Berne.

Other properties the company owns and operates include Century Casino & Hotels in Colorado's Cripple Creek and Central City, and in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in addition to the Century Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Company also operates casinos aboard 12 luxury cruise vessels, including Oceania Cruises' Regatta, Windstar Cruises' three yachts, and Silversea Cruises' Silver Cloud, and has signed contracts for casinos on two additional ships, Oceania Cruises' Riviera and TUI Cruises' Mein Schiff 2, expected to start operations in the next months.
