Club Med Yabuli, China

January 18, 2011 By: Meagan Drillinger Travel Agent

Club Med Yabuli Resort
The recently opened full ski-in/ski-out Club Med Yabuli Resort is the hotel chain’s first property in China.

When it comes to Club Med vacations, your clients’ thoughts automatically drift to sandy beaches, water sports and activities, and tropical drinks with umbrellas all under one inclusive price.  It’s unlikely that they would think skiing and snowboarding. In China, no less. But the world-renowned all-inclusive is trying its hand at ski vacations with the opening of the Club Med Yabuli Resort in November as its first destination in China.

The resort, at an altitude of 1,541 feet in the northeastern Heilongjiang province, is ideal for winter sports, from Alpine skiing and snowboarding to ice skating. It is a full ski-in/ski-out facility with 18 runs, including two green, 11 blue and five black trails.

The resort itself has 283 rooms, including 42 suites with panoramic mountain views. Suite guests are entitled to in-room breakfast daily. The  Presidential Suite has 1,291 square feet of space.

For those dining out of room, Club Med Yabuli has three dining options. The most notable is Mudan, which serves Chinese regional specialties from a varied à la carte menu and has six VIP rooms.

True to Club Med form, Yabuli is a wonderful getaway for families and welcomes children two years and above with facilities that cater to them. Ages two to three are welcome to the Petit Club Med; those from four to 11 years have a Mini Club Med, while pre-teens and those from 12 to 17 have access to a Junior Club Med. If parents are looking for an evening alone, the resort has a Pyjama Club that takes care of the young ones during the evenings.

After a day on the slopes, head over to the spa where Club Med has partnered up with top-tier skincare brand L’Occitane.

Although Club Med Yabuli’s target consumer is based primarily in Australia and Asia, U.S. travel agents with clients interested in the exotic and adventurous can contact 1-888-WEB-CLUB for more information.
