PATA and the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Development Group Sign Memorandum

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Development Group have teamed up under a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in the development of tourism training and in co-branding a seminar on global tourism trends and destination marketing.

In the past, PATA has worked with Chengdu and VISA to host a tourism recovery and crisis communication workshop, which gave guidance to local tourism officials after the earthquake in May 2008. The following year, PATA pulled together an international study team to conduct a research-based market study, commissioned by Chengdu.

This MoU was signed by PATA Interim CEO Bill Calderwood and Vice General Manager for the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Development Group, Dai Zhen.
