Historic Boston Hotel Closes for Renovations

January 15, 2008 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent

The Copley Square Hotel in Boston's Back Bay closed on Monday to undergo a $14 million renovation, which will include upgrades to the property's interior as well as the addition of a guest-service philosophy being touted as "Intuitively Yours." The hotel plans to reopen late this spring as a four-star boutique property.

The Copley Square Hotel opened in 1891 and has the distinction of being Boston's second oldest hotel in continuous operation, with a who's who of famed guests from Babe Ruth to Duke Ellington. The renovated hotel will have new decor in the lobby area, reworked check-in and check-out service and 143 redesigned rooms, which will include complimentary wireless Internet. Visit (DE)
