In conjunction with the rebrand, the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel is rolling out a five-year renovation to modernize the property, including the hotel's exterior, 114 guestrooms (additional rooms slated for 2015 and 2016), revamped ballroom facilities and meeting space as well as upgraded food and beverage outlets.  The objective of the new look and renovation is to reposition the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel as one of the city’s largest hotels and to beef up its offerings within the corporate and social function spaces.

“It is a true pleasure to become part of this team and have the opportunity to lead the exciting repositioning effort for one of New York City’s most iconic properties,” said president and general manager, Dr. Ann Peterson. “With our new look, new team and rebrand, we are excited for the future of the storied hotel,” she said.

To carry out the renovation plans and new vision for the property, Peterson welcomed a new management team to rebuild various departments. As part of the turnaround process, Peterson brought in John Yazbeck, director of sales and marketing; Frank Cear, director of finance; Barry Rauch, director of operations; Will Reed, director of information technology; and Ray Gronau, director of human resources.

Prior to joining The New Yorker Hotel team, Peterson served as area general manager for Crescent Hotels and Resorts in Minnesota. During her 34 years in the hospitality industry, Peterson has worked for several major hospitality brands including Omni Berkshire, Crowne Plaza Times Square and the Intercontinental Hotels Group.
