WAIKOLOA VILLAGE, Hawaii - As part of Travel Agent's ongoing coverage of the 2012 United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) Annual Conference & Marketplace, we sat in on a presentation hosted by Proexport Colombia in which the destination's diversity was put on display for association members.
Proexport Colombia has been an associate member of USTOA for the past five years. In 2007, only one USTOA active member offered Colombia. Currently, Colombia is present in the catalogs of over a dozen active USTOA members, including Adventures Incorporated, Gate 1 Travel, Latin America by Goway, Brendan Vacations, Goway.com and more.
The programs offered by these operators include destinations such as Cartagena; Bogota, the Coffee Triangle and the colonial city of Santa Marta.
Proexport Colombia hosts a series of educational events for agents around the U.S. to provide the latest updates on the country’s tourism sector, with sessions held in key markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, Chicago and Boston. Proexport also hosts a variety of trips throughout the year to introduce travel agents to the destination first-hand.
