Special Needs Group Gives Back to Community

wheelchairSpecial Needs Group, Inc. (SNG), a provider of special needs equipment rentals, donated a $2,500 mobility scooter to 18-year-old South Florida resident Celexia Dixon on July 31 at Achievement & Rehabilitation Centers, Inc (ARC) Broward, Florida

This is the first of 10 mobility scooters that Special Needs Group will be donating to those in need in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, SNG reports.

Dixon, who is interning as a receptionist during the summer at ARC Broward through the Workforce One program, currently uses a wheelchair because of her physical disability. She takes multiple buses to get to and from ARC Broward every day, even in the torrential rain, SNG reports.

“When we heard about Celexia’s situation, we knew that we were the organization to help her,” said Andrew J. Garnett, president and CEO of Special Needs Group. “Our mission is to deliver an accessible world, and that includes a global footprint and local social responsibility.”

“Celexia is a very dedicated, hard-working intern who never complains about her disability,” said Jessica Kersey, director of development for ARC Broward. “This donation will make a great difference in her life.”

Special Needs Group, Inc. provides a range of special needs equipment for purchase and rental including servicing all major cruise lines. The company also services guests visiting hotels, resorts, theme parks and convention centers.
