Airline Executives and Greenspan to Address NBTA

July 21, 2008 By: George Dooley

Dr. Alan Greenspan, former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board (1987-2006), will be a featured speaker at the National Business Travel Association’s (NBTA) 40th annual NBTA International Convention, July 27-30, in Los Angeles.

This year’s program will also include international airline executives on an airline CEO panel to discuss the latest challenges and trends affecting the global industry. “With the growing challenges currently faced by the global airline industry, we though it was important to build on [last year's] success with a panel of current heads of major airlines from multiple countries.” Kevin Maguire, NBTA president and CEO, commented.

Featured on the panel, to be held on Tuesday morning, will be Richard H. Anderson, CEO of Delta Air Lines; Montie Brewer, president and CEO of Air Canada; and Willie Walsh, CEO of British Airways. The panel will be moderated by Emmy-winning journalist and editor Peter Greenberg of NBC's Today Show.

The U.S.-based NBTA and its regional subsidiaries– NBTA Asia Pacific, NBTA Canada and NBTA Mexico– serve more than 3,200 members in 30 nations around the globe. NBTA has 41 U.S. chapters with more than 5,000 members. This includes corporate and government travel and meetings managers, as well as travel service providers, who collectively manage and direct more than US$170 billion of global business travel expenditures annually.
