Home-Based Travel Agent Expo

The highly-anticipated inaugural Home-Based Travel Agent Expo & Conference is almost here. Taking place at the beautiful Mandalay Bay property in Las Vegas, this three-day event (including a pre-event day on December 5) has already received pre-registrations from more than 3,100 home-based travel sellers, all eager to take advantage of an impressive line-up of targeted programming, incredible networking opportunities and a commission-packed trade show floor. Show management, along with the team at Travel Agent, has crafted a comprehensive curriculum with something for everyone—whether you're looking to learn the best way to choose a host agency, enhance your supplier relationships, develop your own sales plan, find out about alternate commissions, hone in on specialization or hear how other home-based travel agents have succeeded. The agenda features sole presentations and panel discussions featuring some of the most well-known experts in the industry giving home-office ideas on how to develop a client base and enhance overall business.

Delegates will also be able to take part in a number of one-hour product seminars, including presentations by South African Airways and its partners; the Jamaica Tourist Office; and the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority.

Over 3,000 agents will converge at the Mandalay Bay property in Las Vegas

The trade show floor, a major opportunity for delegates, will be open on both Wednesday, December 6 and Thursday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Over 200 domestic and international travel suppliers will be on hand to meet and do business with delegates. Representatives will showcase destinations, tour operators, cruise lines, transportation and travel insurance providers, air consolidators and other types of commissionable products and services as well as host agencies, technology companies and other resources for the home-based office.

Exhibitors will be offering hands-on training, launching new products and announcing other developments on the show floor.

The trade show will also offer agents the chance to win great prizes: giveaways provided from some of this year's exhibitors include gift cards to participating Las Vegas eateries, shops, shows and spas (compliments of the Las Vegas CVA and its partners) as well as tickets to the hilarious performances of The Scintas.

Home-Based Travel Agent Expo & Conference is part of Travel Week Las Vegas. Also part of this exciting happening, is the 8th annual Luxury Travel Expo.

Though these shows will take place at the MandalayBay property over the same dates, they are separate events and require agents to register separately if they intend to participate in both. The expo does have complimentary pre-registration for bona fide travel sellers pre-show; onsite registration fee is $20 per agent. Luxury Travel Expo requires agents to pay a separate fee.
