Carlson Wagonlit Travel Acquires Executive Travel Group

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has acquired Irish partner agency Executive Travel Group, a supplier of corporate travel management services in the Irish market and partner of CWT in Ireland for 13 years. Executive Travel has Business Travel Centers located in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, with annual traffic of $50.6 million.

As a result of the acquisition, CWT will for the first time operate a wholly owned service in Ireland. Executive Travel’s Managing Director Arthur Harrow and his team will continue to run the business, reporting to Andrew Waller, executive vice president for UK and Ireland. “CWT’s acquisition of Executive Travel is a natural progression of the longstanding successful relationship between the two companies," Waller said. "Our businesses share a common ethos and provide high-quality and cost effective travel management services to clients regardless of their size.”

“I am certain that the acquisition of Executive Travel Group by CWT is in the best long term interests of both our clients and our staff and will result in the business developing and growing further in the Irish market," Harrow said.

CWT has a presence in more than 150 countries, CWT serves companies of all sizes, as well as government institutions and non-governmental organisations. In 2007, sales volume for wholly owned operations and joint ventures totaled $25.5 billion.
