RADIUS Promotes Shannon Hyland to CEO

writing
RADIUS reports the appointment of Shannon Hyland as president and chief executive officer. Hyland joined RADIUS in 2008 as chief financial officer and has led the company’s supplier relationships.

Hyland succeeds Chris Vasiliou, a thirty-year travel industry veteran who has served as RADIUS CEO since 2008. Vasiliou’s tenure featured significant growth in the company’s global travel management business, as well as the close of a major investment round in 2011 led by RADIUS members Cox & Kings, Portman Travel and Travel and Transport.

Hyland brings more than twenty years travel industry experience to his new role, RADIUS said. Prior to joining RADIUS, Hyland held CFO positions with Groople, an online group travel planning company, as well as Mark Travel and Cendant’s Galileo Americas. He also has served in senior finance and operations roles for America West Airlines, United Airlines and Continental Airlines.

RADIUS reports it has significantly grown its business in recent years by offering multinational companies global data consolidation and reporting as well as strong local service from its worldwide network of TMCs. The company has expanded its team significantly, especially outside of North America, to support its global travel management activities and to provide expanded distribution opportunities for supplier partners through the RADIUS Global Hotel Program.

RADIUS has a network of TMCs in 3,300 locations across 80 countries. RADIUS members manage more than  $21 billion of annual corporate travel spending.
