Results! Travel Launches "Accredited Leisure Travel Professional" Program

diplomaResults! Travel reports the launch of a new leisure travel agent accreditation program for members called the Accredited Leisure Travel Professional program. The goal is to recognize members who have developed detailed travel industry knowledge of destinations, niche markets and suppliers, as well as superior sales and service skills, the group says.

“Because of the glut of travel information available to today’s consumers, we are seeing a significant shift in consumer behavior back toward seeking out travel professionals who can clearly demonstrate just how knowledgeable they are about leisure travel. The program provides Results! Travel members the validation their clients need to know about their vast knowledge and expertise,” said Results! Travel vice president and general manager John Risner. “There are some terrific educational programs offered by suppliers, destinations and industry organizations such as CLIA and The Travel Institute, which are incorporated into our program. We wanted to bring that together – with our specialized internal training – into our encompassing program for Results! Travel members.”

Members will have up to two years to complete the course work to earn the Accredited Leisure Travel Professional designation. 

Each participant must complete work in the following categories:

  • Results! Travel Sales and Service Skills
  • Results! Supplier Knowledge
  • Cruise Sales
  • Destination Knowledge
  • Lifestyle Knowledge

Members who have completed select, pre-approved training programs within the past five years, and can provide documentation of certification, will receive credit that can be applied toward reaching the minimum threshold of credits for the Accredited Leisure Travel Professional certification, Results! said.

Travel members in taking advantage of our tools and resources in order to allow them to operate a more successful business,” said Risner. “This adds another dimension to what we offer – we are committed and invested in making sure our members, and their agents and ICs, are able to enhance their professional abilities to assist their clientele.
