SeaMaster Cruises kicked off its 2008 Networking Convention by announcing its franchise owners’ sales are up 58 percent year over year. The convention is being held aboard Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas on a roundtrip cruise out of Boston, September 20-29. SeaMaster Cruises, a home-based, cruise-only franchise organization, is part of The Travel Franchise Group, LLC, which is a subsidiary of Travel Acquisitions Group.
General Manager Mark Schiffner provided an overview of the network’s accomplishments that included the redesign of the network’s website, www.seamastercruises.com; the introduction of Personalized Travel Planners, which are sent to clients immediately after they arrange their cruise; the roll-out of a proprietary training program, called “Certified Personal Cruise Expert”; and an increase in the network’s emphasis on building a client base of affinity groups.
“A prime example of how we’re truly ‘learning from each other’ has been our increased focus on providing our network with tools to serve the needs of affinity groups— it’s really paying off for our franchise owners,” declared Schiffner. “Fifty-two percent of the network’s overall business is now based on those types of groups, and we expect that to grow substantially in the future.
In the past year, 15 franchise owners have taken the necessary steps to earn the “Certified Personal Cruise Expert” (CPCE) designation. A cornerstone of the program is proof of the Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA’s) Accredited Cruise Counselor (ACC) certification.
