Dave Zitur has been named as Travel Leaders Group’s Chief Information and Process Officer, effective immediately. Zitur has been tapped to provide strategic leadership and direction in leveraging information technologies (IT) to more effectively achieve the business objectives for the various companies and brands that comprise the group. Zitur reports directly to Travel Leaders Group CEO Barry Liben and is based at its Plymouth, Minn. headquarters.
“Dave Zitur brings over 25 years of IT and finance-related expertise to this critical new role within Travel Leaders Group, and his vast experience will be particularly beneficial to our entire organization,” stated Liben.
“Today’s announcement also marks a return of sorts to our organization. As CIO and Vice President of Finance for five years within Carlson Leisure Group (which later became Travel Leaders Group in 2008), Dave Zitur provided impeccable leadership and outstanding stewardship, which in turn, garnered great respect for the company while adding significantly to its profitability," Liben said.
Zitur’s responsibilities also include serving as an active partner with all Travel Leaders Group business presidents on all aspects of IT infrastructure, systems and travel technology, as well as providing process improvement functions outside the realm of technology across Travel Leaders Group’s business lines.
Zitur joined Travel Leaders Group from Aimia (which includes the former Carlson Marketing Group), where he served as CIO and Vice President of Delivery and Operations. Although most of Zitur’s career was spent with Carlson and Carlson-related businesses, his career began in 1985 at Texas-based Electronic Data Systems (EDS).
