Vacation.com Members Average 11 Percent Air Commissions

airplaneVacation.com reports increased member participation in its AirPRO program. Since the fourth quarter of 2011, member participation across all three AirPRO offerings has increased by nearly 90 percent. The most significant increase in participation came in the second quarter of 2012 as more member agencies learned about AirPRO and its benefits, Vacation.com said. Participation and utilization has continued to increase in each subsequent quarter.

“The significant increase in the number of members participating in our various AirPRO programs this year is a strong statement that our agency owners find a great deal of value in making more money selling air,” said Vacation.com President John Lovell. “With the average commission of 11 percent in 2012, our program is another lucrative way for our members to be more successful and allows them to provide their clients with support on every aspect of their trip.”

Vacation.com’s air booking tool, AirPRO, offers member agencies commissions on a wide variety of airlines. In addition to AirPRO Direct, for ARC-accredited agencies, Vacation.com offers AirPRO Prime for its non-ARC-accredited agencies, and AirPRO Excel for members selling more than $1 million in air. Launched in phases in 2011, the three AirPRO programs cater specifically to each agency’s need.

“Before AirPRO, I wasn’t making any money on airline tickets. Now, not a week goes by that we don’t make money using AirPRO,” said Vacation.com member Eric Ardolino, President of A&S Travel Center, Inc. in Wallingford, CT. “If you’re not using the program, you’re throwing money out the door. AirPRO is a user-friendly tool that allows agencies like ours to boost our commissions selling air."

Through December 31, 2012, Vacation.com said it is waiving the one-time setup fee for member agencies interested in registering for AirPRO.
