Vacation.com Urges Agents to Communicate on H1N1

May 4, 2009 By: George Dooley

Vacation.com is keeping a wary eye on the H1N1 virus and urges member agents to be alert to changes that impact travel plans to Mexico.

“As the international outbreak of the 2009 H1N1 virus widens, Vacation.com is taking a strong position of informed communication," Vacation.com said in a statement. "We are keeping our members up to date on the latest news from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as from suppliers who are altering itineraries and adjusting policies that affect our members’ businesses.

“We are also supporting the fulfillment of all current travel plans to Mexico and other affected countries. Our message to member agents is clear: the swine flu and other infectious diseases can be avoided by your clients if they apply basic precautions while traveling as recommended by the health experts. Our message to consumers is also clear: travel safely, travel far and travel often,” the consortia said.
