RIU to Open First RIU Palace in Costa Rica

PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic - As part of a press trip to see both the new RIU Palace Bavaro and the newly renovated RIU Palace Macao, Travel Agent got the skinny on a resort in an entirely different destination.

Armin Kaestner, RIU Hotels & Resorts' vice president of sales for the Caribbean and Mexico, told us that RIU Hotels & Resorts will open on Novemeber 2 its second hotel in Costa Rica in the form of the first RIU Palace in the destination.

The RIU Palace Costa Rica will be situated in the region of Guanacaste, famous for its natural beauty, just next to the Riu Guanacaste hotel.

Within three years of opening, the Riu Guanacaste hotel has become one of the favorites among RIU guests. The Riu Palace Costa Rica aims to extend and complement the range of hotels RIU has to offer in the destination with its luxury service and facilities.

Situated on the seafront, the Riu Palace Costa Rica will offer 538 rooms with free Wi-Fi internet and 24 hour room service. The resort will offer four pools, one of which will have a swim-up bar and a children’s pool, as well as a mini-club for children and entertainment programs operating day and night. Kaestner told us that the design of the hotel will be modern inside with a classic elegance look for the outside.

The resort also includes the street, El Poblado, where clients will find boutiques, a kiosk, souvenirs and photographic shop, as well as a fully equipped Renova Spa, where clients can enjoy free use of the gym, sauna and Jacuzzi. On the same street, you will find the casino, the Pacha nightclub and the complex’s Conference Centre.
