2016 Scenic Cruises Sailings to Feature New Space Ships

PortoScenic Cruises has just released an 84-page Preview Brochure detailing its upcoming 2016 sailings (which can be accessed at www.scenictours.com/brochures).

Travelers who book early for the cruise operator’s 2016 sailings are eligible for discounted fares, free flights and savings of up to $2,000 per couple.

This spring, Scenic will be launching two new “Space Ships,” distinguished for their expanded suites, a Sun Deck outfitted with jet, plunge and vitality pools, an outdoor bow promenade that is completely enclosed with a glass wall for use during inclement weather and in the evening and larger public spaces, butler service for every cabin, handheld GPS independent tour devices, “Scenic slumber beds,” flatscreen televisions and Mac mini infotainment systems enhanced by the ship’s complimentary Wi-Fi, six dining options, and the “Sun Lounge” system that transforms each suite’s private balcony into an indoor lounge with a push of a button.

The Scenic Amber will travel along Europe’s main rivers, while the Scenic Azure will feature the Portugal Douro River itinerary, for which it was specially designed. Highlights from Azure’s 11-day roundtrip voyage from the World Heritage city of Porto include: sparkling wine tasting at Quinta Aveleda, exploring the restored Monastery of Saint John of Tarouca, lunch and Flamenco dance in Salamanca, a canoeing adventure on the Sabor River and a glance at life in the port wine town of Pinhᾶo. A 14-day version of the itinerary adds three nights in Portugal’s capital city of Lisbon that features both tours and additional free time. Both itineraries also offer a four-day Madrid extension.

Scenic FreeChoice land excursions are included in every sailing and feature a selection of immersion-based activities in key cities and regions, ranging from ‘Shop with a Chef’ excursions that take guests on a guided visit to local food markets, and tours of numerous World Heritage sites, including Zollverein and Nessebar, the ‘Pearl of the Black Sea.’

Scenic Enrich experiences include drinks and a private Viennese concert at the Princely family home, Palais Lichtenstein, fine dining and classical music at the fabulous Palais-des-Papes of Avignon, and mingling with locals in the small Holland village of Hoorn.

Guests who prefer independent exploration by foot or electric-assist bicycles may do so with the exclusive Scenic Tailormade handheld GPS guided tour system.

The all-inclusive voyages offer unlimited beverages (including premium wines and spirits), all meals, personal butler service for all guests, all excursions, events and entertainment, the Scenic Riverview personal GPS commentary device, electric-assist bicycles, Wi-Fi, airport transfers, and all tips and gratuities.
