AmaWaterways recently debuted it newest river cruise vessel in Europe, the AmaVerde. The newbuild, a sister ship to AmaWaterways’ AmaBella, accommodates up to 161 passengers and is currently on charter to river cruisers from the Australian market.
AmaVerde will be available to the North American market in October 2011, when it sails 14-night Magnificent Europe cruises between Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Budapest, Hungary. Agents can begin booking clients for those itineraries now.

This year marks a rather busy year for the Chatsworth, CA-based river cruise line. In addition to debuting the AmaVerde, AmaWaterways plans to introduce a newly redesigned 212-passenger AmaKatrina on the Volga-Baltic Waterway in Russia, and the new AmaLotus on the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia as well.
A unique design feature to the AmaVerde is its Twin Balcony stateroom design, which consists of a French balcony and a full-size balcony allowing guests to step outside and take in the views along the river from their very own staterooms.
Onboard, staterooms and suites range from 170 to 350 square feet in space and all staterooms feature flat-screen televisions with complimentary Internet access; plush robes and slippers; marble bathrooms with multi-jet shower heads; and complimentary daily bottled water. Room service is also available for both breakfast and dinner in Junior Suites.
Dining options onboard the AmaVerde include fine dining in the main restaurant, Italian cuisine in Bella Cucina, a Wine Room for private dining and the Erlebnis Chef’s Table restaurant, which offers a private chef’s special tasting menu.
Public areas include a Main Lounge and Bar, which will offer nightly entertainment and piano music; a fireside library; an Observation Lounge; a 24-hour coffee and tea station; a fitness center and sauna; and a massage, hair and beauty salon. Additional onboard amenities include an elevator; a heated swimming pool; and complimentary Wi-Fi for all passengers.
