American Cruise Lines Offers Lewis and Clark Theme Cruises

American Cruise Lines is offering Lewis and Clark theme cruises aboard the Queen of the West, a 120-passenger paddlewheeler operating on the Columbia and Snake Rivers of the Pacific Northwest.

The theme cruises, which mirror the travels of Lewis and Clark, are available April 2012 between Portland, Ore., and Clarkston, Wash. Lecturers and entertainers will be available on board to provide stories of Lewis and Clark, while tour guides and regional experts will be available on shore at sites made famous by Lewis and Clark.

Highlights of the theme cruise include:

Featured guest speaker and historian Todd Weber tells stories of the patriots, fur traders, Indians and explorers of America during this period.

A dinner with Lewis and Clark impersonators that includes fine dining, entertainment, trivia and more.

A screening of Ken Burns’ Lewis and Clark documentary, “Lewis and Clark - The Journey of the Corps of Discovery.”

Guided tours of sites throughout the Lewis and Clark National and State Historic Park, including Fort Clatsop, Salt Works and Netul Landing.
