Carnival Corporation & PLC has reached agreements for the construction of three new cruise ships: a 132,000-ton vessel for the Costa Cruises brand and two 125,000-ton ships for its AIDA Cruises brand.
Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri signed a contract for the construction of a passenger ship for Costa scheduled for delivery in October 2014, at the cost of $214,652.89 per lower berth. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries also been tasked with building two 3,250-passenger ships for AIDA, scheduled for delivery March 2015 and March 2016, at a cost of $200,342.70 per lower berth.
