June 29, 2011 By: Elliott Mest Travel Agent

The Carnival Glory and the Carnival Paradise both received perfect scores for sanitation on the same day. // (c) 2011 Carnival Cruises.

For the first time, two Carnival Cruise Line ships earned perfect scores on all 42 items comprising the U.S. Public Health Service's (U.S.P.H.) Vessel Sanitation Program checklist.

Both the 2,974-passenger Carnival Glory and the 2,052-passenger Carnival Paradise achieved perfect marks on the unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year. The inspections are mandatory for all cruise ships with an international itinerary and a U.S. port, and evaluate proper food handling, food preparation and storage, galley cleanliness, and an inspection of the water supply used in galleys and pools.

The Carnival Glory offers four to seven day Canada and New England cruises to New York, while the Carnival Paradise offers three and four day cruises to Baja from Long Beach.
