Carnival Cruise Line was rated the most improved U.S. brand in consumer perception in 2014, according to YouGov’s BrandIndex Buzz Rankings Report. The cruise line has recently implemented a combination of new policies and entertainment options to help appeal to the average customer.

The "Carnival Live" series, a concert series at sea starring popular artists, was successful in 2014. In 2015 Journey, Little Big Town and Rascal Flatts will perform onboard Carnival’s fleet.

"Seuss at Sea" also proved to be popular with passengers. The Dr. Seuss characters entertain families with performances and experiences. "Camp Ocean" is also geared towards families and teaches children aged two to 11 about marine life and the ocean.

Two popular policies also helped Carnival gain the trust of consumers. The “Shore Excursion Best Price Guarantee” says that if guests find a lower price on shore excursions, before or during the cruise, the passenger will receive a refund. The refund will be equal to 110 percent of the difference to be given in form of onboard credit.

The “Great Vacation Guarantee” gives customers who aren’t happy with the cruise a 110 percent refund, transportation home and a $100 shipboard credit on a future cruise. The customer must notify the crew within 24 hours of departure to receive the refund.

“Over the past year, we’ve launched several industry-first innovations that have been very well received by our guests and provided an exceptional and enjoyable vacation experience for more than four million consumers,” said Jim Berra, chief marketing officer for Carnival Cruise Line.
