The Port of Tampa continues to remain closed due to heavy fog, according to a new statement from Carnival Cruise Line. Given the need to disembark guests currently on board, which will take several hours once the ship docks, Carnival said it has been forced to cancel the January 28 embarkation for the next cruise on Carnival Paradise.

The January 28 scheduled four-day cruise to Cozumel has been modified to a three-day Cruise to Nowhere embarking January 29. Guests departing on the voyage have been notified of the current situation. Those that wish to sail on the modified itinerary will receive a 50 percent refund of their cruise and a 50 percent discount on a future Carnival cruise, Carnival said.

Carnival Paradise was scheduled to return January 28 from a five-day cruise to Grand Cayman and Cozumel that departed on Saturday, January 23, from Tampa, where it is based year-round.
