Carnival Partners With Roland to Enhance Entertainment

Roland Corporation U.S. and Carnival Cruise Line have announced that they will work together to further the cruise line’s entertainment options across its entire 25-ship fleet. The new partnership will provide additional musical equipment and training as well as technical support to Carnival’s performers.

This move will coincide with the recently unveiled Carnival Studios, a state-of-the-art rehearsal space in Davie, Florida.

The space is a 44,500-square-foot venue that was built to provide Carnival's 500-plus entertainers a dedicated rehearsal space. There are eight music studios, five full-stage dance studios, a training room, and a green room.

The studios at the facility are equipped with 12 Roland RD-2000 stage pianos, 12 Roland TD-50KV V-Drums, and 28 Roland stools. These and other Roland products will also be added to Carnival Cruise Line ships as well. Performers are also receiving both in-person and cloud-based product training support from Roland to further their experience.

Sarah Beth Reno, Carnival’s vice president of entertainment, said that this partnership will give their musical acts unprecedented opportunities to develop exciting entertainment experiences for the guests.

Carnival Cruise Line runs three- to 16-day voyages to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, New England, Bermuda, Europe, Cuba, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

In addition to the new entertainment updates, Carnival will also be adding two Vista-class ships in the coming years. Carnival Horizon is scheduled to be delivered in 2018 and an as-yet-unnamed ship in 2019.  Additionally, two other new ships are scheduled to sail beginning in 2020 and 2022.
