The partnership of Carnival and Guy Fieri brought New Yorkers a taste of the cruise line's new BBQ, which is already available aboard Carnival Magic and is coming soon to Carnival Vista.
In addition to samplings of Championship Pork Butt, Blue Ribbon Chicken, Mac Daddy Mac n’ Cheese, and Scratch-Made Cole Slaw, draught beers from Concrete Beach, Coney Island Brewing Co., Cigar City, Heavy Seas, Sierra Nevada, as well as Carnival’s own ThirstyFrog Red were available.
Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, an outdoor venue, will use an actual wood smoker – a rarity on cruise ships, Carnival said. The eatery accompanies Guy’s Burger Joint as the second joint restaurant between Fieri and Carnival. Aboard the Carnival Vista, which will launch year-round service from Miami starting in Novemeber, RedFrog Pub & Brewery brews three craft beers – a first for North American cruise ships.
The event also included a panel discussion and Q&A with Fieri and Carnival’s VP of beverage operations, Eddie Allen.
