Chef Nobu Matsuhisa to Sail on Crystal Cruises' July 12 European Cruise

Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will sail aboard Crystal Cruises’ July 12  European cruise from Lisbon to London. The planned special dinners, sake tastings and celebrations set to include Nobu’s Peruvian-infused Japanese fare will take place alongside Crystal’s celebration of its 25th Anniversary, and is hosted by Crystal’s president and COO Edie Rodriguez. Throughout the 13-day voyage, Nobu – whose signature cuisine is included in Crystal’s onboard Silk Road and The Sushi Bar – will share his talents during cooking demos, book signings and Sake tastings with Sake Master Hazu.

More exclusive experiences planned for the voyage include:

  • Two omakase, or chef’s choice, dinners in Silk Road, with menus by Nobu including Connoisseur ingredients such as toro tuna, paired with champagne and specially-crafted Hokustsu “Northern Snow” Sake and Ongaku-shu “Musical Sake.”  The $250 per person dinners also offer guests a complimentary signed cookbook and photo with Nobu.
  • A $1,000-per-guest Ultimate Vintage Room dinner, with a specially designed menu complete with champagne and wine pairings for 12 guests.

Nobu’s Japanese-Peruvian fusion has been served complimentary in Silk Road and The Sushi Bar on board every Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity sailing since 2003 and 2008, respectively. Nobu personally trains all chefs, designs all menus, and frequently visits the ships for ongoing refinement.

Until Oct. 31, all-inclusive, value-priced “Book Now” fares for the “Epicurean Escapade” voyage start at $5,320/person. Crystal Serenity's itinerary departs Lisbon for London, calling in Porto/Leixoes, Portugal; St-Jean-de-Luz and Brest, with at least on overnight in Bordeaux/Bassens, St-Malo and Honfleur, France; and Guernsey/St. Peter Port, Channel Islands.
