CLIA and Member Lines Host Habitat for Heroes Event

To mark the National Day of Service, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and its member lines Princess Cruises, Cunard Line and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, will host a day of volunteering with the San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valleys affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, as part of the Habitat for Heroes initiative in partnership with the California Department of Veterans Affairs.

Employees from these three cruise lines will take a day out of the office to join together with volunteer organization Habitat for Humanity to help build 12 houses for low-income veteran families in the Southern California area. Together, they will help with the framing, insulation and construction of a new home in the Sylmar neighborhood.

The volunteer event with Habitat for Humanity is part of CLIA’s “Cruise Forward” initiative that highlights the economic benefits, community partnerships and environmental stewardship of cruising.  For more information on how cruise lines are making a positive impact, visit www.cruiseforward.org.
