Cruise Planners: Brexit Could Boost U.S. Visits to the UK

June 30, 2016 By: Newswire

britainCruise Planners has released a new statement on the impact of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union on tourism.

According to the home-based travel agent franchise network, Americans visiting the UK can now benefit from the pound’s lower exchange rate. Following the vote, the pound plunged in value against the dollar, making traditionally expensive London a better bargain for visitors. Exchanging cash at today’s rates allows travelers to lock in the best pricing, Cruise Planners said.

"For travelers considering going to the U.K., now is the time to make a move,” said Michelle Fee, CEO and co-founder of Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Representative. “The British pound is the weakest it has been in more than 30 years, so travelers can afford more."

Destinations popular with British travelers are likely to experience less occupancy, meaning Americans could see travel deals domestically and in other international destinations as well, Cruise Planners said. Popular UK destinations include London, the Scottish Highlands, Stonehenge, Edinburgh and York
