Cruise Tourism Picking Up In India

India's Ministry of Tourism has reported that the number of tourists arriving via cruise ships to Indian ports has nearly doubled to 50,000 this year. India's cruise infrastructure is still under development, but with 55 cruise ships expected to dock at Indian ports, the ministry hopes to target 100,000 cruise passengers per year by the end of 2010. Luxury lines such as Regent and Seabourn currently operate cruises in the region.
