Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' Balmoral to Sail to the U.S. for the First Time in Nearly Two Years

Fred. Olsen Cruise LinesBalmoral will arrive in Key West, Fla., on Jan. 21, for its first visit to the U.S. in almost two years. The last U.S. visit was Feb. 13, 2010 in Honolulu, Hawaii while on the 2010 World Cruise itinerary.

Following the Key West visit, the Balmoral will continue to New Orleans, La., on Jan. 23, followed by Galveston, Texas on Jan. 25, both maiden calls for the Balmoral.

The Balmoral is currently on its Around South America Grand Voyage, which departed Southampton Jan. 5, 2012 and will sail for 89 nights. Cruisers will experience maiden calls to New Orleans, Galveston, and São Paulo, transit the Panama Canal, explore Central America, discover Chile’s fjords, round Cape Horn and experience the rainforest with a cruise down the Amazon River.

The Balmoral is the largest and newest cruise ship in Fred. Olsen's fleet and offers a wide range of facilities, yet still enjoys a home-away-from-home atmosphere. Balmoral has accommodation for about 1,300 passengers, through 710 cabins and suites. Before being known as the Balmoral, the ship was named the Crown Odyssey.
