Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Releases 2011/12 Season

Belfast, IrelandFred. Olsen Cruise Lines announced over 60 topics or themes throughout the 2011-2012 season, which will include the U.K., the Canary Islands, Egypt, the Northern Lights and maiden calls throughout the world.

Theme cruises include the Titanic Mini Cruise departing Southampton April 3, 2012. starting at $741 per person, the ship will visit Liverpool and Belfast before disembarking April 8. In Belfast, guests will see the Harland and Wolff shipyard, where the RMS Titanic was built between 1909 and 1911, and have the option to go on the shore excursion to the home of Titanic's designer, Thomas Andrews. Booking has been opened, based on double occupancy for an inside cabin and incluidng $75 onboard spending per cabin.

On the Canary Islands cruise, "History of the British Royal Family," passengers can sit down to free lecturers and historians discussing the British royal family from past to present. Departing Southampton December 8, 2011, to return December 21, the cruise starts at $1,550 per person based on double occupancy with a $200 onboard spending credit per cabin.

New cruise itineraries include The Red Sea, a 28-day cruise from Southampton on the Black Watch. Departing October 4, 2011, the cruise will visit the Egyptian pyramids from Alexandria. Then, you can go snorkeling or scuba diving in the Red Sea to see the reefs and wander through the stone city of Petra in Jordan.

Departing Southampton February 23 on the Boudicca, Norway Winter will set out in search of the Northern Lights on the cruise line's first trip to Norway. During the 14-night voyage, you will stay overnight in Tromso before cruising to Alta.

Other maiden calls include New Orleans, Galveston in Texas, Alborg in Denmark and Santos, Brazil, aboard the Balmoral. Departing January 5, 2012, the ship will take passengers on an 89-night cruise around South America. Departing Dover on the Black Watch, cruisers will visit Ullapool, Scotland during the nine-night cruise around the U.K. September 25, 2011.
