Get a Look at Silversea’s Newly Lengthened Silver Spirit

Following two months in dry dock, the newly-lengthened Silver Spirit began its cruise season this May. From March 5 to May 1, Silversea Cruises halved the ship and inserted a 49-foot midsection.

Other improvements included décor updates to the ship’s public areas and suites; enlarging the pool deck; and increasing the ship’s dining options to eight. Other new onboard amenities include the Arts Café, Tor’s Observation Library, the Zagara Spa, the Panorama Lounge, and the Dolce Vita lounge. The lengthening and renovations increased the ship’s capacity by 12 percent, its dining capacity by 15 percent, and its outdoor seating by 20 percent.

Here's a first look at the ship's new public spaces.

Pool Deck

Guests familiar with Silver Spirit will notice the biggest change on Deck Nine. Here, Silversea enlarged the pool adding a shallow beach encircling the swimming area. Nearby, the expanded sun deck now offers more room for passengers to relax in.

Indochine

The renovation also expanded the dining area, adding five new restaurants. The new eight-restaurant layout now includes Atlantide, Indochine, Spaccanapoli and Silver Note. Like many of the other changes aboard the ship, this development brings Silver Spirit more in line with one of Silversea’s other ships, Silver Muse.

Dolce Vita

The extended length gave Silversea the room to add new amenities, such as the Zagara Spa, Tor’s Observation Library and the Dolce Vita Lounge. The Arts Café, featuring art exhibitions and a selection of reading material, gives guests an area to relax in style, both indoors and out.

Right now, Silver Spirit sails in northern Europe, providing seven-day cruises between Copenhagen and Stockholm. In the fall and winter, the ship will sail across the Atlantic for itineraries in Canada, New England and the Caribbean.
