Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Appoints Michael Steffl to Manager of International Sales

 

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises appointed Michael Steffl to manager of international sales, assuming responsibility for all international sales activities. He will continue to work closely with the cruise line’s existing sales representatives in markets such as the USA, the United Kingdom, Benelux and Australia.

Formerly the sales manager for central Germany and the United Kingdom at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Michael Steffl will now be responsible for expanding the international sales department further. This new position was created as part of the company's international strategy. In Germany, he will continue to be in charge of the Rhine-Main region. His other regions have been transferred to other sales managers.

“I welcome my new responsibilities, working towards increasing our sales activities in these exciting English-speaking markets which we have identified. I also believe that with the addition of EUROPA 2 to the fleet, we have a product befitting these markets,” said Michael Steffl.

Part of the strategy of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is to increase the international marketing of both luxury and expedition cruises. Next month on May 10, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will commission the EUROPA 2. The EUROPA 2 is the sister ship of the EUROPA and will be positioned as a lifestyle-oriented and more casual variant in the luxury sector. With up to 516 guests, the has all suites with verandas, with a minimum of 301 square feet. All cruises on board the EUROPA 2 will be offered in German and English.
