Hurtigruten Offers Photography Cruise With Darren Perkell

Hurtigruten has announced a partnership with wildlife and environmental photographer Darren Perkell on an Arctic cruise along Greenland's northern coast departing June 13.

Perkell will offer guests photography seminars, one-on-one instruction, workshops, and location shoots designed to amp up guests' vacation photos. Rates start from $7,195 per person, double occupancy, which represents a savings of more than $4,000 per passenger off regular fares.

The itinerary begins with chartered transfers from Iceland’s Reykjavic Airport to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, 40 km from the Greenland Ice Cap. From there guests board the MS Fram explorer ship, which will sail along Greenland's northwestern coast. During the trip guests will have the opportunity to dog-sled, hike, kayak and more, with daily landings – weather permitting – in the towns and villages that dot the coast.

Perkell is a member of professional photographers’ and cinematographers’ organizations including the International Cinematographers Guild, Nikon Professional Services, and The Explorers Club. He is also a regular contributor to the monthly photographers salon at the School for Visual Arts in New York and has traveled exhaustively throughout the High Arctic.
