MSC Divina Brings New Amenities to Fantasia Class

February 13, 2012 By: Adam Leposa

MSC Divina's sister ship, the MSC Splendida

When MSC Cruises’ newest ship, the MSC Divina, debuts this May, the Fantasia-class vessel will feature brand-new amenities. Differences between the MSC Divina and her sister ships, MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida, are:

Increased capacity- MSC Divina boasts 1751 staterooms that can host 3502 guests (based on double occupancy), making it the largest ship in the MSC Cruises fleet.
Infinity Garden Pool and a “beach zone” in the aft overlooking the ship’s wake.
Technical changes that include more powerful propulsion motors, new alternators and new HVAC chillers
A new freshwater production system that requires 40 percent less power, lessening environmental impact.

Like the other Fantasia-class vessels, MSC Divina will feature the MSC Yacht Club. This “ship-within-a-ship” consists of 69 suites that offer guests their own personal butler, complimentary wines and spirits available at any time of the day in the Yacht Club’s exclusive lounges and pool area, and private venues that include Le Muse panoramic restaurant, Top Sail Lounge, pool and relaxation area.

All MSC Divina guests have access to three restaurants and a Tex-Mex alternative dining restaurant, Acqua Park with 150 fountains and water jets, whirlpools and pool bar, the MSC Aurea Spa, children’s and teen areas, interactive 4D Cinema, virtual Formula 1 auto racing and the Pantheon Theatre.

Following her May 26 christening in Marseilles, France, the newest ship from MSC Cruises will sail May 27 on a six-night cruise to Venice with calls at Civitavecchia, Messina, Valetta and Dubrovnik. The ship will then begin a series of 7-night Eastern Mediterranean roundtrip itineraries from Venice and Bari, calling in Katakalon, Izmir, Istanbul and Dubrovnik, through October 2012.
