Starting this fall through next spring, MSC Cruises will introduce dance to its onboard program. With daily dance lessons at beginner and intermediate levels, guests can learn Tango, Mambo, Salsa, Samba and Cha Cha, as well as other ballroom and popular dances. This season instructors include Elaine Santana and Alex de Oliveira of the Axel Dance Company and Petra and Norbert Backhausen of the Tanzschule Backhausen.
On MSC's dance cruises, passengers can take part in classes in the ship's lounges or on deck, competitions and talent shows, costumed with special themed nights (Carnival Party, Super 60s and 70s Revival, Tropical Dance Night and Tango Night). All participants will receive certificates and competition winners will receive prizes. Dance classes will be scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon, 3 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. onboard with an evening performance by all instructors.
Five dance cruise dates, ship and itineraries start with the MSC Armonia. Departing Venice September 20 on an 18-night voyage, from $1,049, the cruise will call in Croatia, Tunisia, Spain, Portugal's Madeira, the Canary Islands, before disembarking in Santos, Brazil.
