MSC Orders Another Panamax Vessel

MSC Cruises has ordered another Panamax ship with delivery slated for March 2008. The line also said it has taken an option for an additional Panamax ship. The firm order represents the fifth confirmed order for a new ship that the line has. MSC currently has orders with Chantiers de l'Atlantique to build two Panamax and two post-Panamax vessels. The latest order and option are in the same class as the 89,600-ton MSC Musica, which will begin sailing on July 1. A Panamax ship is one that can sail through the Panama Canal.
