A New Heavy-Weight Joins the Carnival Fleet

Carnival Cruise Lines recently set sail with the 130,000-ton Carnival Dream.  The company’s newest addition to the fleet left port at Monfalcone, Italy earlier today for an inaugural cruise around the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to New York.  Later in 2011, the Carnival Dream’s 130,000-ton sister ship, Carnival Magic, is also expected to join its sibling after construction in Italy.

Included among the features of the gigantic 3,646-passenger Carnival Dream are a large outdoor café designed to accommodate daily live music, a wrap-around promenade with whirlpools, new balcony cabins, and five-berth staterooms.  In addition, the kids can play at a new water park, featuring the longest mobile water slide ever constructed.

Then, after the kids are tucked away, mom and dad can check out the nightlife with a comedy club, a dance club with a laser show, and a host of bars, lounges, and music venues.
