Nexion Wins Carnival Award

Nexion, one of the leading North American host travel agencies, was recognized by Carnival Cruise Lines as the Partner of the Year for the Central U.S. region. Nexion was selected for continued year-over-year sales growth and innovative training, sales and marketing initiatives.

“We are thrilled to have Nexion as our very first Partner of the Year for the Central Region,” said Mike Julius, Carnival’s regional vice president, Central U.S. “The Nexion team spirit, dedication to selling Carnival and overall professionalism is what we looked for in naming a partner of the year. We could not be happier with our relationship, and we look forward to continued growth and success for both Nexion and Carnival Cruise Lines."

Nexion has continued to grow its Carnival sales as the result of an increased educational focus on building group business, both at its intensive three-day Boot Camps and on a Seminar@Sea onboard the Elation last fall that was focused entirely on group sales. Nexion also has a hosted group on the Nexion Town social networking site where agents can interact with the Carnival Sales team to share sales strategies and marketing tips for building their cruise sales.

“We credit much of our success to the collaborative partnership we have with our Carnival Business Development Director, Alicia Steuart,” said Jackie Friedman, Nexion’s general manager. “Alicia is passionate about Carnival and is always willing to work with our agents and with our headquarters staff to help Nexion continue to increase our sales. It came as no surprise to us when Alicia was named Carnival’s Business Development Director of the Year for 2008.”

The partnership between Nexion and Carnival Cruise Lines goes even deeper. Nexion’s Friedman is part of the Carnival Executive Forum, a group of travel agency executives representing a wide range of business models. The new forum is designed to provide travel agents and Carnival executives with a forum to discuss issues relevant to the cruise industry.
