Norwegian Gem Uses Video Contest to Crown Godmother

Norwegian Cruise Line is going to the videotape to find the godmother of its newest ship, Norwegian Gem, which will debut in the United States in December. The cruise line is inviting all its Latitudes members (guests who have sailed on an NCL ship) to submit a video at [www.gemitgirl.com] explaining why they think they deserve to be the Norwegian Gem Godmother. Entries will be accepted beginning October 8 through November 12 with five finalists revealed on November 15. The godmother will then be announced during the christening of Norwegian Gem on December 18 in New York. "Norwegian Gem represents the ultimate in Freestyle Cruising and is the ultimate It Girl," said Colin Veitch, NCL's president and CEO. "In looking for her Godmother, we wanted to reflect her hip personality while rewarding one of our past guests with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." In their videos, entrants are encouraged to include how many times they have sailed with NCL and why they think they are an "it" girl. Adding a unique talent on the video that embodies a freestyle spirit won't hurt either. Visit [www.ncl.com]. (DE)
