Norwegian Cruise Lines announced its partnership with the national daily newspaper USA Today to launch a naming contest dubbed “Norwegian’s Cruising for Names.” This contest will determine the names for the line’s two next generation Freestyle Cruising ships scheduled for completion April 2013 and 2014.
The two ships being named are part of the Project Breakaway series. The contest runs from today through August 14, 2011, and the winners will receive a trip for two to the first ship’s opening ceremony. Winners will be announced mid-September.
To enter, contestants should visit www.cruisingfornames.usatoday.com, where they should fill out an entry form and submit a name that starts with “Norwegian.” There is not a maximum amount of entries per person, and the winners will receive round-trip coach airfare for two, ground transportation, balcony stateroom accommodations aboard the ship they helped name, on-board meals and access to the ship’s inaugural festivities, including the Christening Ceremony.
The contest is only open to residents in the United States and Canada, excluding Quebec.
