Norwegian Sun returned back to service today after undergoing extensive renovations to enhance its guest experience. The 1,936-passenger freestyle cruise ship received upgrades to its public areas and suites, and now features an additional restaurant.
According to Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line's chief executive officer, the enhancements follow a "company-wide commitment" to keep Norwegian Cruise Line ships in their best possible condition and to continue to maximize its options for guests.
Norwegian Sun’s refurbished guest areas include:
· Updated décor in all 33 of the ship’s suites
· Improvements to the Kids Crew area which offers complimentary children’s programs
· The addition of Moderno Churrascaria, the line’s new and popular Brazilian steakhouse
· Overall replacement of carpets and wall coverings in public areas.
Norwegian Cruise Line will also be extending additional renovation work to two more ships within the year: Norweigian Dawn in May and Norweigian Spirit in September. There will also be additional back-of-house enhancments including an energy conservation project as well as machine and equipment renewal.
Starting May 8, Norwegian Sun, which typically serves Eastern and Western Caribbean locations, will spend her summer in Europe to embark on a nine-day Baltic Capital cruise.
