Notable Developments in Cruises

July 11, 2011 By: Elliott Mest Travel Agent

Recent developments have shown the importance that cruise lines have placed upon their relationship with travelers and travel agents through the introduction of programs such as Royal Caribbean’s backend tours of their ships, and the introduction of new specialty dining packages aboard Celebrity Cruises.

Carnival Cruises made history last week when its Carnival Glory earned its second perfect score on a randomized shipboard inspection, for the second week in a row.

Both Compagnie du Ponant and Norwegian Cruise Line wish to reward customers who are looking to the future by releasing new programs that offer discounted cruise prices for advanced bookings in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Finally, there has been a great number of new programs being introduced by cruise lines in the last week, including Silversea Cruises which is offering five new single supplement cruises, and Norwegian Cruise Line which has begun to offer 500 new land excursions throughout Europe. American Cruise Lines is also set to begin service to Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska.
