Now Open for Bookings: MSC Seaside’s Transatlantic Crossing

msc seasideMSC Cruises has opened bookings for the transatlantic crossing on its newest ship, MSC Seaside, which is set to debut in December 2017. Guests on this voyage will be the first to experience the new ship.

MSC Seaside’s 20-night transatlantic crossing itinerary from the Mediterranean to Miami includes embarkation in Venice, Italy, on November 30, 2017; stops in Valletta, Malta; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Barcelona, Spain; Cadiz, Spain; Funchal, Portugal; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie, US Virgin Islands; and San Juan, Puerto Rico; before arriving in Miami, Florida, on December 20, 2017.

Rates start from $1,729 per person. Included in the price, guests booking the MSC Seaside Grand Voyage will also receive a beverage package and a 30 percent discount on laundry. Guests who book the Bella, Fantastica, Wellness and Aurea experiences will also receive three complimentary sightseeing shore excursions, available in Barcelona, Spain; Funchal, Portugal; and Valletta, Malta.

In addition, MSC Seaside sailings from Miami to the Caribbean (including a stop at the new private island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve) are also available for booking, with the first sailing departing on December 23, 2017.

MSC Seaside forms a key pillar of the cruise line’s $10.2 billion investment plan, which includes the building of up to 11 next-generation smart ships coming into service between 2017 and 2026. The Seaside class of ships is MSC Cruises’ fifth consecutive brand new prototype of ships. The design of the ship is meant to emphasize a connection to the outdoors in the sea in the layout of staterooms, suites, dining areas and public spaces. The ship will accommodate 4,140 guests at double occupancy.

MSC Seaside is the first of two identical ships in the Seaside generation. Its sibling ship is set to enter service in 2018, while a third one – reflecting an existing option for one additional Seaside generation ship – would be delivered by 2021.

MSC Seaside will have three unique outdoor catwalks that extend beyond the edge of the ship, with all glass railings and a glass floor, giving guests the feeling that they are walking on water. The catwalk on the top deck spans nearly 100 feet with views from the top of the ship; the other two catwalks located on deck eight, are 130 feet in length and are part of a 360° open air promenade, the widest on any ship ever built. This public space encircles the entire ship with an array of bars and restaurants so that guests can enjoy outdoor dining as well as a day or evening stroll to take in the sea air. Panoramic elevators will transport guests while providing stunning ocean views.

Accommodations onboard the new vessel will include 14 aft corner suites in a “beach condo” design, as well as a collection of terraced balcony staterooms. For families or groups, new open, modular connected staterooms can accommodate up to 10 people, and there will also be luxury suites with private two-person outdoor whirlpools.

The ship’s MSC Seaside Yacht Club will be on the foredecks and will have a private solarium, lounge and restaurant, as well as Royal Suites with private outdoor whirlpools.

The ship will also have a zip line, aqua park with interactive Slideboarding technology and 20 distinct bars. Through a partnership with pan-Asian celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi, MSC Cruises will offer guests a specialty restaurant exclusive to MSC Seaside. Other dining experiences include a luxury seafood restaurant with chef’s table, a world-class international steak house where the beef will dry age on board, and a dedicated family pizzeria.
